There is no doubt that today's celebrities are at the top of the food chain. While most of us dream of being rich enough to buy our own island, these fortunate few actually get to. Mel Gibson is one such lucky soul. In 2005, he snatched up a Pacific island in Fiji for a whopping 15 million. In fact, there are a number of celebrities who own their own island. Johnny Depp, Oprah Winfrey and Nicholas Cage have all purchased islands in the Bahamas.

With so many of these illustrious few snatching up these islands, have you ever wondered that they might run out of these exotic escapes?

Fortunately, you no longer need to burden yourself with such a dilemma. Nakheel Properties has alleviated the problem of a possible land shortage for these V.I.P.'s by creating an entirely new world, specifically for the elite.

The World is a series of artificial islands shaped like, you guessed it, Mother Earth. The archipelago of man-made islands will consist of approximately 300 smaller islands that will be divided into private homes, estate homes, dream resorts and community islands. Slated for completion in 2008, it is unclear which celebrities, if any, have yet to place dibs.

With an average price of about 25 million, these futuristic abodes will run a comparable figure to a typical Malibu home. In other words, the island's price tags are financially compatible with most of the top celebrities' paychecks.

Transportation to the islands will consist of either helicopter or boat making paparazzi an unlikely nuisance and a major appeal to most.

It seems that in today's technological world, being filthy rich clearly means that you can have it all. To include, your own manufactured island. No longer must the ridiculously wealthy be required to share their living space with the rest of humanity. Tired of co-existing with the bourgeois, these aristocrats can move to a more prosperous community, which might one day boast such refined people as Angelina, Brad or Britney Spears.
