Slowly but surely, elite fashion designers and high end houses are lowering their noses. Influential names in fashion such as Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf and Karl Lagerfeld have made such a name for themselves by creating garments for posh shops and monied clientèle. Another thing all three have in common; they have all created affordable lines for retailer H&M. And even though H&M has been successful contracting designers to create limited lines for their store, I would have to give Target the credit for starting this revolution and truly making cheap "chic". For the past year they've introduced one well known designer after another, with names ranging from Luella Bartley to Paul & Joe, and their latest, Behnaz Serapfour. Up next is New York based designers Proenza Schouler, a young design team who has been showing their collections at New York Fashion Week
