Bill Parcells is a living legend in the NFL. His reputation as a tough, honest and fair man hold strong in both his personal and professional life. Parcells was named as the head coach for the Dallas Cowboys on January 2, 2003. In his first season as the Cowboy's head coach, Parcells took on a team that had posted three consecutive 5-11 seasons and posted a 10-6 mark in the regular season. In 2004, the Cowboys posted a 6-10 record. This was Parcell's second season with only a slight improvement. In 2005 the Cowboy's rebounded with a 9-7 record. Under his direction, the N.Y. Jets (1997-99)-who won a combined four games the two seasons prior to his arrival-improved to 9-7 his first season and 12-4 with a trip to the AFC Championship Game. This success marked the first time in NFL history that a team had won one game and within two years was playing for a conference championship.
