Name a famous city in Poland. Most likely, the first one that will come to mind is Warsaw, and there's a reason for that. Warsaw is famous for its history and culture, but yet it seems lesser-known than other European giants. Most tourists will agree that this is one city to include on a trip around Eastern Europe. Of course, tourists will have to make sure all ID information is up to date to avoid any future problems.

Getting the Facts is Always Important

For those living in the good old USA who plan to visit for less than two and a half months, no visa is needed. Specific instructions are given if the trip will take longer than this. For those traveling to Poland from other countries, there are separate rules for different areas. Thoroughly check all this out before you get ready to leave; it's always better to be prepared, and no one wants to be turned away at the gate. Warsaw is worth the extra fuss and feathers.

Stare Miasto: The Old Town

To fully experience Warsaw's history, make sure to spend at least a couple of hours at the Stare Miasto, or the Old Town. No, the medieval edifices aren't original; they were destroyed decades ago when war ravaged the country. However, from the clever rehabilitations and creative genius, it's hard to believe these aren't the original streets. Like me, your first reaction might be surprise; there is great similarity between the Stare Miasto's tall, colorful rowhouses and those of Germany. This is a place caught between ancient and modern; vehicles buzz around old homes and a stunning red castle, and visitors walk along, happily oblivious to the 21st century.

Don't Miss the Royal Castle

Did You Know?
Warsaw, one of the cities heavily damaged in World War II, has risen from its past and faithfully rebuilt many historical structures. The buildings may not be original, but they are as close to the originals as humanly possible.
