Best TV Series Drama

Who Should Win: "Heroes"

Who Will Win: "24"/ "Grey's Anatomy"

In an amazing break for NBC, a station known for it's dramatic flops in past years, the show "Heroes" struck a chord with viewers in fall of last year. The show quickly became one of the Must See Shows of the fall television season, topping viewer charts and receiving rave reviews. Who can forget the catchy-if not somewhat overused-tagline "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" that captivated fans until the show's break in December? That's enough to make "Heroes" my preferred pick for a win in this category. However, the show is up against some tough competitors. In what was considered its best season yet, "24" is pretty much the favored choice in this category, followed closely by the ever-popular "Grey's Anatomy." Even Hiro Nakamura's quirky lines can't totally beat out Jack Bower's "The only reason you're not dead is because I don't want to carry you," and the handsome Peter Petrelli isn't quite enough to top "Grey's" McDreamy and McSteamy. If I had to choose, my choice for the winner would definitely be "Heroes"; but if I'm going to be realistic, my final choice has to go to "24".

Best TV Series Comedy/Musical

Who Should Win: "The Office"

Who Will Win: "The Office"/ "Desperate Housewives"

Dunder Mifflin has made us laugh nonstop for quite a few seasons now. The show's quirky cast has something for everyone, and it's office setting makes it accessible to the everyday worker. Jim and Pam's romance over the past few seasons has practically given the show a bit of a dramatic appeal, yet Michael Scott-and his number one fan, Dwight-is always enough to bring it back to its comedic foundations. "Desperate Housewives" will probably provide stiff competition in the field of comedy, though I don't think it will be enough to dethrone "The Office" from the throne of television hilarity.

I'm not so sure, Benscudder; maybe last year LOST would have been a major competitor, but it's definitely been losing some of its viewer support recently. I might have gone with LOST had it proved itself as more of a favored program this year . . . but I just don't think it got there. Thanks for your comments, though, and who knows; maybe LOST will be this year's finder of the award anyway!! :)

I wish Grey's would win. McSteamy and McDreamy are enough a reason to get the award.

Hugh should get more than one nomination. Heroes should get more than two nominations. I hope 24 wins; that show rocks!

Hugh Laurie's ability to get through his naturally thick brit accent alone deserves the award..lol
