Everyone has been bullied around sometime or another in their lifetime, but lately it has truly gotten out of hand with school violence. In this article I am going to give a few ideas that I have thought of to you, the public, to help resist being bullied at all, or to bring it to a minimal point of occuring. This was a guide essentially for grade school children and teenagers, but I think most, or even all of these tips can be applied to any person at any age.

Walk In A Group

This was the tip that always helped me the most. First off, you're gonna need friends, and not everyone has friends and cannot succed. This is where you need to learn how to socialize better. In almost any environment-- work, school, public, there are awlays some people that you can relate to. Not every soul out there is corrupt and angry, it just takes some looking to find a good group of people.

If you already have a good group of friends, I suggest walking together where ever you can. Whether its from class to class, or bar hopping, stick together to keep each other safe. Bullying often leads to fight when you put up resistance. Althought being in groups can end up in a group fight, bullies tend to not randomly choose to pick on groups.

Improve Your Self Esteem

The biggest reason bullies pick on people are because they lack self esteem, and want to bring you down to their level. However, a bully wont pick on someone that isn't vulnerable, or probably won't. This is why I suggest gaining a higher achievement of self esteem. How can you do this, and show it? Here's a few ideas:

1. Look up when you walk, looking down practically shows vulnerability. When looking up make eye contact with people looking at you. Im not saying go into a stare down or try to intimidate people, just look and make eye contact enough to show a high regard of self esteem, and that you're not vulnerable to threats from a bully.
