Romantic Weekend Escapes: Tavares City
Tavares City is located in Florida and was founded by Major St. Claire Abrams in 1880. As this proud city puts it: "the city's downtown area offers a well-preserved 19th century atmosphere laced with neighborhood cafes, antique stores, and relaxed entertainment."
Orlando is known for its beautiful weather which Tavares shares... unlike Orlando Tavares is romantically quiet and is located perfectly along the serene and entrancing Dora Lake. The following are a few things you can look forward to when embarking on one
of your romantic weekend escapes near Tavares City.
Romantic Weekend Escapes: The MountDora Dinner Train
This is easily one of my favorite things about this romantic escape. This dinner train is really quite cool. On an 1800's railroad you board to feast while traveling around Mt. Dora and Tavares. I love feeling the history when I choose to experience it- and this is one of the best ways to do so.
The floors are carpets, the chairs are upholstered and the windows have matching curtains to add to this atmosphere. There is a variety of food to choose from. From elegant entrees to pizza you can find something to suit your taste.
The views are wonderful- as you enjoy the constantly changing scenery of historic homes, lakes and more, you can truly relax during this unique experience.
Romantic Weekend Escapes: Opera House Cottages
There are so many suites to choose from here at this romantic destination which is why it had caught my attention. To show you a brief example of what they have to offer, below is a list and (in their own words) describe to you what they have to offer:
1. The Palm Suite
A large, fully furnished studio suite, The Palm offers a relaxed, South Florida atmosphere, complete palm tree accents.
2.The St. Claire Suite
