There are certain stories that capture the minds of people in such a way that Hollywood feels obligated to try and interpret it with all of its power and controversy. The stories of Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, Jack The Ripper, The Wolfman, or Jekyll and Hyde spring quickly to mind. There were, of course, the original versions of these films and there were remakes that stuck somewhat close to the original story. Finally, there have been more modernized or contemporary versions. "Jekyll + Hyde" fits into this latter category.

In this version of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic tale of good and evil, a medical student begins experimenting with a drug in hopes of altering his personality. The student, who is of course named Jekyll - - played by Bryan Fisher - - desires to be more aggressive and less of the "nerd" that the local college students like to tease and torture. Instead he finds that the drug is begins to over every aspect of his life and changes the very essence of who he is. Slowly the drug unravels his personality, turning him into something that he cannot control. One morning he awakens to find a woman in his bathtub covered in blood. He is panicked, not remembering what happened the night before. But when he hears a friend knocking at his door, he tries to silence the woman and ends up killing her in order to keep her quiet.

As his friends try to find out what is going on with him, Jekyll becomes totally detached. He continues to increase the dosage of the drug and his actions become more and more frightening for those around him until he spirals out of control. Things only go down hill from there with his terrifying descent into madness chronicled in a bizarre video diary.
