I too am a stay at home Mom. I have worked for several years. It was always very hard on the family when I did work. I always missed my family when I was at work and dreaded going into work and leaving them at home. I have some college education but finding work is almost impossible. Every time I would get a good job and help out financially, the company would downsize or hire volunteers trying to get rid of paid staff. A few months later they would hire people again for less money. It was absolutely insane!

When I worked the funds did not always go to helping the house. Sometimes it would prevent going in debt over a relief fund. The last time I even managed to save a little money. Being out of work now for almost a year is driving me crazy. A few months back I would almost break into tears and have anxiety when I took my son to school and kissed my husband as he went to work.

I don't understand society today. Nowadays if a woman wants a job she must devote her whole life to work. This is unforgivable if you have a family to care for! Whenever I have a lapse of work or cannot seem to find work I always remind myself that God is preparing me for something better in the future.

There have been times when I was out of work and had to take care of cancer ridden family members. I do not regret not working and know that it was an honor to be able to help them through their struggles.

With all these reasons why I should be more excited staying home I still feel the burden to help my family financially. I have hoped for many years that could be through the technology of the Internet. Maybe the best is yet to come. :)

I understand where you're coming from. I have felt the same way. Know that you are doing what you feel is best for your family. Thanks for writing about it.
