Lipstick Jungle has been canceled, and neither Brooke Shields' name recognition nor Andrew McCarthy's long standing acting and stage experience could elevate Lipstick Jungle to a three or four season series. Thus, after 15 episodes and two short seasons, the New York Post reported today that Lipstick Jungle is officially canceled.

My Own Worst Enemy with Christian Slater and Madchen Amick did not fare any better. NBC ordered nine episodes and the series which was heavily advertised prior to its first showing, is not on the chopping block. With My Own Worst Enemy canceled, NBC concedes failure to ABC. As pointed out by Hollywood Insider just last month, My Own Worst Enemy simply could not compete against Dancing with the Stars.

The Montel Williams Show Calls It Quits After 17 Years

Far more long lived but nonetheless coming to an end in 2008, the Montel Williams Show is calling it quits. On the air since 1991, CBS has chosen to cancel the TV talk show although - according to TV.com - it is unclear whose hand was on the plug when the show was canceled.

Oprah's Big Give Canceled by ABC

Not even Oprah Winfrey is cancel proof and ABC politely said thank you after one season and eight episodes of The Big Give. While giving away money in philanthropic endeavors sounds like a surefire hit in the reality TV genre, critics were vocal about their disdain for what they perceived to be self aggrandizement by Oprah.

Of course, the Daily Herald said it in perhaps the most poignant manner when it referred to the show as inspiring a certain cynicism about charitable giving. ABC doesn't need this kind of PR, and the Big Give is off the air.
