Valentine's Day Crafts for Kids
Valentine's Day will be here before we know it and it is time to prepare for your children's Valentine's Day parties and events. The best part of the holidays throughout the year for me is getting my child involved in each one. Next to Christmas, my son's favorite holiday is Valentine's Day because we spend a lot of time together creating crafts and gifts for his father, grandparents, preschool teachers and friends. Creating Valentine's Day crafts is also a great way to spend quality time with your child. I wanted to share some easy Valentine's Day crafts that you and your children can enjoy making together!
Be Mine Band-Aids
These are very simple and it only takes about 30 minutes to create. Children can use these as a temporary tattoo if they wish.
The craft materials you will need are a Band-Aid, Valentine's Day stickers, and a permanent marker. First you will decorate a plain Band-Aid with a permanent marker or a paint pen. Then you just add the Valentine's Day stickers. Some message ideas you can write on your Band-Aid are: I'm stuck on you, let's stick together, and you make me feel better.
Gum Guy Cupids
This is a great craft that your children will enjoy making because you use gum! But don't worry - the gum stays in the wrapper! You and your children can complete this craft in less than one hour.
The craft materials you will need are:
1. 2 sticks of gum (in their wrappers)
2. Scissors
3. Double-sided tape
4. Colored card stock
5. Pipe cleaner
6. Glue stick
7. Aluminum foil or colored paper
8. Googly eyes and mini stickers
9. Optional - colored markers
Cover one side of a wrapped stick of gum with double-sided tape. Cut a pipe cleaner in half and place the pieces atop the gum stick, centered horizontally, one for the Cupid's arms and the other for his legs. Stack the second gum stick on top and gently press down to stick all the pieces together. Then bend the pipe cleaner limbs into unique poses.
