I know everyone loves a fancy dinner with the person they love at a nice restaurant on Valentine's Day. In reality though many of us also realize we can't afford to do that. Restaurants and retailers know that there is the pressure to buy the best for your loved one on that special day so they raise the cost of items you are likely to buy this time of year. Those items include chocolates, candies, restaurant meals, wine, flowers, and cards. So, how can you have a great Valentine's Day on a budget? Hopefully a few suggestions below will help.

My first answer to that question is you will have a great Valentine's Day on a budget if you are with the one that you love. While material things and a nice dinner are nice, they are not requirements. In our busy lives somtimes just spending the evening at home snuggling with your loved one with no interruptions can be the perfect Valentine's Day. Maybe while that does sound nice to you, you would still prefer to do something a little more active?

Well, how about a nice romantic walk under the stars at night? Nothing is nicer than the quiet sounds of nature while gazing into the eyes of the person you love with all your heart. Choose a nice place to take your walk away from the noise and distractions of everyday life. Enjoy each other's company. Enjoy a nice conversation with your significant other, honestly how often do you get the chance to have a conversation together with no other distractions. Sometimes sharing your thoughts and feelings with your partner can be worth much more to each of you than a dinner out.

Some may still want to have a dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day instead of my suggestions above. You could of course go with two options then. You could have a nice home made dinner that you and your partner cooked together, again sharing the time together is the key. Or maybe you really would prefer to have a dinner out at a restaurant together, as long as it's not too expensive.

Takeaways
  • Valentine's Day is a Day where you love means the most
  • Love can not be demonstrated by how much you spend
  • Don't forget, your celebratory meal doesn't have to be Valentine's Day itself!

Remember, enjoy the love you share with your loved one, it's worth more than anything money can buy
