Valentine's Day always focuses on women. Men are led to believe that Valentine's Day has nothing to do with them and most men act like they're okay with that. But, come on, we all know that men secretly wish that their wives/girlfriends would spend some time and actually buy them a thoughtful Valentine's Day gift for once. I always do my best to pick out a thoughtful gift for my boyfriend and all you other women should be doing the same thing for the men in your life as well.

Valentine's Day should be a day enjoyed by couples, not just part of the couple. Why do you think men dread the holiday so much? Men feel forced to pick out the perfect gift and what do they get in exchange? Most are lucky to get a box of candy. This Valentine's Day, do something different and buy a thoughtful gift for that special guy in your life. The following gifts are simply suggestions. Do some serious thinking and decide what would make a really thoughtful Valentine's Day gift for your boyfriend/husband. You'll be amazed at how much a thoughtful gift will mean to them.

Thoughtful Valentine's Day Gifts for Men #1: Expensive Chocolates

How many of you are guilty of buying your boyfriend/husband a cheap box of Valentine's Day chocolates? This year, buy a more expensive brand. I highly suggest Godiva Chocolates. Men are so accustomed to getting and eating cheap chocolates that they will be amazed at the taste that these chocolates have. This can be an even more thoughtful gift if you search for a box of chocolates that has some of his favorite flavors inside.

Thoughtful Valentine's Day Gifts for Men #2: Homemade Candy

Men know that candy isn't easy to make. This Valentine's Day be extra thoughtful and make him some candy from scratch. I suggest making at least 3 different kinds and then making a box for the candy to go in as well. This gift is not only thoughtful, but it says that you cared enough to make him something from scratch.

Thoughtful Valentine's Day Gifts for Men #3: His Favorite Meal

Amy, thanks for the thoughts. As a self proclaimed expert on men's gifts (check out my blog: http://www.themensgiftguide.com) I am the first to admit that we all tend to focus on the material things life. Your article reminds us all that we don't really have to spend a ton of money to have a romantic and special Valentines Day. Love is expressed many ways, and we all often overlook the simplest ways. Of course, jewelry is nice too ;-)
