The Easiest Cheesiest Pasta Bake
Easy Pasta Bake that the Whole Family Will Love
My family is a huge fan of pasta, any kind and many times is our pasta motto. Here is my recipe for the easiest pasta bake, that even someone with very little cooking skills can make. There are variations and tips included as well.1 package of you favorite medium pasta (elbow, shells,
1 pound of ground beef
1 jar favorite spaghetti/pasta sauce
1 medium sized onion diced
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 package of taco seasoning
1 package of shredded mozzarella cheese
Cook pasta according to package directions. Look for al dente or medium instructions, you'll be cooking the pasta in the oven afterwards so you don't want it overcooked.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook ground beef until no longer pink. Drain and add diced onions, cook until onions are translucent and then add package of taco seasoning. Do not add water to the mixture. Mix the seasoning throughout and add diced tomatoes. Add spaghetti sauce and cook over low heat. Cover.
Spray a large size casserole or baking dish with cooking spray, cover the bottom and all the sides of the dish. Drain pasta and transfer into the greased baking dish. Add beef and sauce mixture. Mix until all pasta is covered with the sauce. Sprinkle fresh or dried oregano if desired. Spread shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes at 350 or until the cheese is melted.
This recipe can easily be modified and you can add your favorite ingredients;
Try different shapes of pasta. Textures or spiral pasta is great for sauces, as it will absorb the flavor the best. You can also use your favorite whole wheat pasta.
The recipe calls for ground beef, you can use lean 92/8 ground beef or even try it with ground turkey. It's just as delicious and healthier option!
Test of different types of spaghetti sauce, such as sweet basil flavored or even mushroom.
I don't put garlic in it because the sauce I use already has plenty of it. But garlic lovers are welcome to use garlic power or minced garlic.
Instead of regular diced tomatoes, try fire roasted diced tomatoes. They have stronger flavor.
