How Heterosexuality is Harmful to Society

An overwhelming majority of Americans are actively engaged on heterosexual relationships, many of which are cohabiting or long-term. Heterosexuality is widely accepted in most cultures around the world, and heterosexual marriage and adoption are legal in all fifty states. Although it
remains widely accepted, heterosexuality is deeply harmful to individuals and society.

Although it is quite possible that many people who are in heterosexual relationships are simply experimenting, many of them ultimately continue to practice heterosexuality throughout their lives. The vast majority of heterosexuals claim that they were born with heterosexuality and did not choose it, although since only an estimated 7% of them have attemped sex with the same gender, this is difficult to prove.

Heterosexuals tend to be obsessed with sex and extremely promiscuous, and have the second-highest STD rate, after homosexual males. Although lesbians have the lowest rate of STD transmission, few women who practice heterosexuality have considered the dangers associated with their lifestyle.

Heterosexual marriage remains legal in all fifty states, although it is the main cause of the high and growing divorce rate. In fact, The Americans for Divorce Reform, an organization designed to save the sanctity of marriage, states that the U.S. divorce rate among heterosexuals may be as high as 50%. Marriage can no longer be seen as holy with so many heterosexuals viewing it as a disposable commitment.

Owing to their general ability to breed readily without help from modern technology, heterosexuals have caused the massive global overpopulation crisis responsible for famine and ecological destruction throughout the world. Pregnancies resulting from heterosexual relationships are also the cause of nearly all abortions, and many unwanted children have been born due to the irresponsibility of heterosexual couples.

Related information
No one knows what causes heterosexuality, although it is most likely a combination of both environment and genetics.

I've just thumbed up your article via StumbleUpon: view it here. This is a great piece and deserves more exposure.

Good piece of satire. But you should've left out the note at the end--no need to explain or apologize.

Very funny, but a little sad too because there is so much truth in this.

Very funny. I love your use of statistics. Have you ever read the Dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide? Your satire reminds me of that.

Thank you all very much for the responses. Even though this is indeed a satire, I do seriously mean a few of the things I stated, like what Priscilla said. I don't want to hear some raunchy song about sloppy heterosexual sex every single time I turn on the radio, and I don't want to see a straight couple slobbering all over each other in line at the grocery store. I don't want to see ANYONE engaging in sexual acts in public, regardless of their orientation. The same people who engage in those behaviors constantly criticize gay couples for "flaunting" their sexuality by holding hands or standing close together.
