Some time ago, I saw the infomercial for the Magic Bullet. You all know the one I am talking about... with the British guy and the bad actors dressed in Hawaiian outfits. Now, mind you, I am NOT a fan of infomercial products. I am not tempted to put down 4 easy payments of $19.95 for anything, let alone some kitchen product that won't work like it's supposed to. However, despite the lame commercial, the product caught my attention.

This Christmas, my dream of becoming a Magic Bullet owner came true. After some testing, it is everything it claims to be and easier than I thought!

What is the Magic Bullet? Well, essentially, it is a glorified blender. But really, it is so much more convenient. It's a blender and food processor in one, and it sits conveniently on my countertop, no larger than a can-opener.

I have found it to be so convenient, especially since the small cups are so easy to clean, that I use it almost every day. Last week, I made homemade chili, and it saved me about 30 minutes of slicing and dicing. I minced my jalapenos, onion, and garlic in the Magic Bullet in about 4 seconds! Then I pureed a bunch of cherry tomatoes for homemade tomato sauce to add to the chili. It was delicious! I served it to a large group of friends and they all said it was the best chili ever! Fresh veggies really make the difference, and the Magic Bullet makes this a reality time wise.
My husband and I enjoy making milkshakes and smoothies, and then we can drink them right out of the mugs that we blend them in. Less dishes is always a good thing!

Last night I made a full meal, Magic Bullet style. I used the Magic Bullet spaghetti sauce recipe (basically a bunch of tomatoes, onions, and garlic with some red wine and broth), which was warm and delicious after 6 minutes in the microwave, and the Magic Bullet garlic bread recipe, and even used the Magic Bullet to grate block of fresh parmesan cheese to sprinkle over the pasta!

With the Magic Bullet, I find myself making more things fresh, rather than frozen or out of a jar. I also find that I am consuming more healthy foods, like fruits, because I love things like the smoothies.
