Everyone loves a Super Bowl Party, but not everyone loves football. One of the things that will add to the enjoyment of the casual and non-fans though is some great food choices. Of course you do it the easy way and just order a bunch of pizzas and wings, but then in the end your guests will realize the amount of effort you put into it. So, instead how about make some nice finger foods and small sandwiches that will be enjoyed by everyone at your event.

For finger foods, you should have a large variety. A small vegetable plate is fine, but remember most football fans will be looking for the meat and ignoring the veggies so don't spend too much time or money on that option. Let's think of some other finger foods. I didn't say not to have wings, you can either get some from a local restaurant, make them yourselves or buy the frozen variety. If you do them on your own, I suggest you try marinating them in a variety of sauces such as BBQ, buffalo, sweet and sour, teryaki, and maybe a jerk sauce to give a variety of options to your guests. Another finger food that is good which will show effort on your part is Quesadilla wedges. Make these ahead of time, they are fine cold or warmed in the microwave before serving. I would suggest a few varieties again , maybe a basic cheese, some with beef, and some with chicken, and maybe a dessert type or two (I'll touch on these later).

For the main dishes I suggest two items that can be made in advance. A nice big pot of chili is always a good option, and for football season I would suggest a fairly spicy chili at that. For those that do not like their food heavily spiced, have a relatively mild pulled pork or beef barbacue pot ready as well with rolls to make sandwiches. Remember it is the winter, so these hot items will go well with the time of the season and I feel they are better options than lunchmeat sandwiches.

Takeaways
  • Remember to many at your party the food is more important than the game
  • Hey, even the serious fans will remember the food at the party
  • Try some things that are non-traditional to make your party stand out
Did You Know?
Most of the eating will be done before the game and during half time, try to plan your set up ahead based on that idea. Dessert can wait until halftime.
