Get Better Sleep with These Tips

I would go as far to say that everyone has had at least one night where sleeping was difficult. It's not hard to guess that many things can contribute to a sleepless night. Stress, caffeine, waiting up for someone; they all can keep you from getting the rest that you need. It is still suggested that you get eight to nine hours of sleep a night, but many are luck to pull off four or five hours! Not getting enough sleep can affect your day-to-day routine. It can make you ill and irritable as well as bring down your concentration levels. While I am in no way an expert in such an area, I have been affected by sleepless nights. Often, I am the type of person that is tired, but once I hit the pillow I seem to be wide-awake. I've tried many of these suggestions and figured that if they have helped me, I should pass them onto others!Don't eat anything after about eight at night. Now, this does depend on your sleep schedule. Keep in mind that you shouldn't eat anything a couple of hours before you go to bed. Some people claim that eating before bed causes nightmares. You should try this for a couple of weeks to see if this helps. (Also, another reason not to eat before bed is that your metabolism slows down, so more of what you ate will turn into fat.)
Don't do any rigorous activity before bed. Simple stretches are okay and often help relax your body. Stretching out your back, neck, legs, and arms are also a very good way to combat muscle cramps. You should not, however, choose the time right before bed to practice your boxing skills on the punching bag.
