Why Hillary Should Date Bill Clinton and Where They Should Go

Hillary Clinton may run for President of the United States in 2008. There are many things she can do in order to improve her chances for election. Dating her husband, former President Bill Clinton, is one of them. Here is why Hillary should date Bill Clinton and where they should go.

1. It's no secret. Hillary Rodham-Clinton isn't a very likeable candidate, even if you agree with most of her views. Many Democrats fear she is completely un-electable come the general election in November 2008. Her husband, on the other, is very likeable. He possesses that certain something that draws people near. Even the most ardent Republican must admit, Bill Clinton is a smooth-talker who usually gets what he wants. (Slick Willy is what he used to be called.)

With the passage of time, I think Bill Clinton has become even more likeable. His health problems caused us to feel sympathy for him. His work with former president George H. W. Bush caused us to feel gratitude for him. His appearance on shows like the Daily Show with Jon Stewart caused us to laugh. George W. Bush's presidency caused many of us - even some Republicans - to sorely miss Bill Clinton. And time has made us all but forget that little indiscretion in the Oval Office.

Come the campaign, Hillary Clinton needs to embrace her husband, early and often, if she wants to be elected the next President of the United States. And who knows? Maybe some of his likeableness - and electableness (for lack of a better term) - will rub off.

2. Of course, many see the Clintons' marriage as nothing more than a farce. Hillary Clinton needs to prove all those doubters wrong (even if they are right). A stable family life is vital to being elected President of the United States. Even Rudy Guiliani is going to face problems in this department. If Hillary does in fact square off against Rudy in the general election, a stable - or at least stable-looking - marriage may very well give Hillary the edge.
