Remember when Elvis sightings were the funniest thing you've heard? Well, now there is a new opportunity to laugh; if you're a paranormal skeptic that is, but for those who take hauntings seriously, spotting Saddam Hussein's ghost in and around Baghdad is no laughing matter.

On Saturday, December 30th at six a.m. Saddam was executed by hanging and less than 24 hours later buried in his native village Awja. According to CNN, while the American President, George W. Bush slept soundly in the White House, the prime minister confirmed Saddam's death by saying, "Saddam's body is in front of me." To most this is a pretty cut and dried event but there are others who don't believe everything they hear quite so easily.

There have been claims that Saddam's ghost has appeared in public places in Baghdad such as restaurants and markets which really shouldn't surprise too many people since a lot of notorious figures in society are often considered to have other-worldly powers. For years rumors have circulated that Hussein supposedly possessed mystical powers. It has even been speculated that he is the reincarnation of the famous Babylonian King, Nebuchadnezzar.

One theory behind the Saddam sightings is the number of look-a-likes that are running around. It could be that one them was spotted and mistaken for the former Iraqi President. Another theory is that it could be a plot by the Baathists to keep Saddam alive in the Sunni community. Of course it is also possible that due to the nature of the man and his terrifying cruelty that many people simply can not believe that he is finally dead and thus his reign of terror lives on in the hearts of his victim's families as well as the Iraqi people.

Throughout the years Saddam has developed a reputation for being immortal. The Iraqi people believe that he can not be killed because he was able to escape bombs dropped by the US forces as well as an assassination attempt by one of his Republican Guards. At one point it was said that Saddam had obtained a magical blue stone which he had implanted into his upper arm to protect him future assaults and his people are known to say that he had seven lives.

If anyone has reason to be disturbed in his transition to an afterlife this man would certainly qualify. Any rumors his ghost is doing good deeds to compensate for the things he did when he was alive?

Was he standing or floating ? 4. What was he doing (eating, flaning...) 5. Why did not catch him to question him ? 6. How did he disappeared (walking, suddenly...) ... Thanks
