Celebrity Blind Dates: Britney Spears and Bobby Brown

The tabloids have been ripe with juicy headlines ever since the November announcement of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's pending divorce. Recently, Britney has severed the proverbial "ball and chain", punctuating her newfound freedom with late nights, new friends, new potential suitors, and an aversion to underpants. In his own personal saga, Bobby Brown has been left to contend with losing his 14-year long security blanket in pop superstar Whitney Houston. With Houston's attempts to get cleaned up and back into the music world, poor little Bobby's only prerogative is to go along for the ride.

With these two superstars (Britney and Bobby) shedding the responsibilities of marriage, it would probably be a good idea for these singers to hook up on a date. Here's why...

"IT'S THEIR PREROGATIVE"

First and foremost, Bobby should be honored that anyone would feel the song "My Prerogative" is worthy of remaking. The fact that Britney Spears whispered sang the infamous lyrics on her 2004 Greatest Hits album is testament to the fact that this society is comfortable celebrating mediocrity. Bobby Brown, on the other hand has an ego so huge that he considers the remake, her attempt to pay homage to the true roots of R&B. Britney, being a reasonably sheltered country girl from Louisiana was just naïve enough not to know any better.

At any rate, this pairing would work out for a few reasons. It is apparent that Britney desperately needs the attention of the world in order to validate her own "hotness." Bobby Brown needs a place to stay. With all his belongings on the auction block (due to some ill-managed financial decisions), he's just about out of resources required for "pulling the ladies." The world seeing Britney Spears and Bobby Brown on a date would fuel massive flames of gossip feeding Brit all the attention that she could handle. The benefit to Brown is that he again is placed on the map. And at this point in his life, anywhere in front of the camera is a good place to be for him.
