Things Detroit Lions Fans Can Be Thankful for This Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Lions fans. We really need something to be thankful for so here is my list of things Detroit Lions fans can be thanful for this Thanksgiving

The Season is Almost over

Soon Lions fans will be able to begin to forget 2008 and start building false hopes for 2009. After the first ten games of the season they still have the same amount of wins before the season started (0). Thankfully this dreaded 4 months of torture that is
called a "season" is almost over. Thanks for coming fast 2009.

Matt Millen is Gone

Can it really be such a bad season when the villian has finally been defeated? This is what Lions fans have wished for 3 years and it has finally come true. Just the possibility of new management with potential can make a Lions fan smile in a winless season. Even though it's hard to be happy, just be glad Millen is gone.

Plenty of Draft picks to waste

Unless something drastic occurs, it appears the Lions will have the overall 1st pick in the 1st round and a mid first round pick from the Dallas Cowboys. Will they once again draft the biggest name instead of the best player? Is there another Joey Harrington, Kevin Jones, Charles Rogers, or Mike Williams out there this year? Let's hope not. You would imagine with all the draft picks (also a 3rd rounder from the Cowboys) that just by pure luck the Lions would draft a starting quality player. My hope is that the Lions can trade down for additional picks. The Lions can't afford to spend money on a #1 overall pick who will most likely not be worth the money.

It Literally Can't Much Worse...Can It?

Aren't brighter days ahead? What is worse than this? I guess the team moving to Canada is probably the only way it could still get worse. Better days have to be coming and fast. Detroit as a city can't take much more disappointment. Can you imagine 4 wins in 2009? The city might explode in joy!
