Below are a few ideas on how to successfully preserve your childhood pictures. With a little organization and efforts, you will be left with a project that you can have for years to come.1. Scrapbook, scrapbook, scrapbook!
This can be an expensive option, but it can also be the most fun. It is especially useful if you have a lot of newspaper clippings, pictures, and the like that you wish to display with your pictures.
One of the wonderful things about scrapbooking is being able to select all of the backgrounds, lettering, special pens, special scissors, and so much more. You can truly include just about anything you wish. The more creative you are, the better the end result.
Another great thing about scrapbooking is that it is a hobby that you can do well into old age. As long as you have your wits about you, you can scrapbook. Once you complete all of your childhood pictures and memorabilia, you can create scrapbooks for your siblings, your children, your parents, your grandparents, your friends, or anyone else you love. The only drawbacks are that scrapbooking is both time consuming and expensive. However, all of the ideas included here are time consuming.
2. Create digital scrapbooks of your childhood.
Digital scrapbooking can be just as rewarding as traditional scrapbooking. However, there are a couple of advantages to doing things digitally. Number one, it is a lot less expensive as you simply need to buy a digital scrapbooking program; number two, you don't have to worry about protecting your finished product from wear and tear. Once you have a finished product, it is there as long as you keep the files.
If you are thinking that you can't be as creative as in traditional scrapbooking, think again. Today, you can include all types of photo layouts, special fonts, and any background under the sun. In addition, instead of being able to include texture as in traditional scrapbooking, you are able to include music in a digital scrapbook, as well as clips of home movies. The most time consuming aspect of this type of project would be simply scanning all of the pictures you wish to include in the digital scrapbook.
