If you aren't familiar with Philosophy as a company you should look them up. They have a wealth of well-made products for your skin and body that, though pricey, are very effective and natural. Up for examination today is the one-step facial cleanser called Purity. I would like to inspect their claims and see if this simple one-step system is all it's intended to be.

The Philosophy behind it

On the bottle it reads, "Cleanliness is a new beginning; when you feel clean you can begin being who you really are." There is an intuitive truth to this philosophy. Being clean is something that we should all strive for. Not just in body but in mind and spirit. I give the philosophical aspect an A+.

As a Cleansing agent

One of the claims indicates that it "deep cleans pores and eliminates makeup build-up" along with hydrating while it "melts away makeup." Even if you wear a lot of makeup this product claims that it will deep clean it off without several steps (e.g. makeup remover, cleanser, toner, etc.). That's a mighty big claim! But I must admit that it lives up to it. Although I don't wear makeup on a regular basis, I tried out the claim on my hand. I put a really thick layer of 'long lasting' foundation on the back of my hand, making sure to get it into the wrinkles of my knuckles. I dispensed a dime-sized amount into my palm and with some warm water began to cleanse in circular motions. The foundation didn't come off in a big mess of flesh-colored water, but rather it cleansed it off evenly and without residue. What a miracle! This claim is very accurate.
