Diabetes has become one of the most common diseases affecting people of all walks of life and at all ages. Most of us often confuse the reason for diabetes to be the intake of excessive sugar, but
 the fact is that when the insulin - one that turns sugar into energy form - fails there is an excess of unconverted sugar that gets dissolved into the blood causing all the trouble.

Diabetes need not always be genetic or a hereditary problem, people also develop this condition due to many influencing factors. Here are seven danger signs for diabetes.

1. Being Obese - The first danger sign is being obese. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, more than a quarter of the adult population is obese. Excess fat can also make the insulin function improperly. This is because it hinders the body and its insulin capability from performing well. Children who weigh more than their ideal weight are more prone to type 2 diabetes.

2. Inactive Lifestyle - A lifestyle that always keeps you inactive and immobile can cause many health detriments and also lead to obesity. A sedentary way of life with excess weight can lead to type 2 diabetes

3. Insalubrious Eating - An improper diet can only lead to many unwanted sicknesses and also increases the risk of putting on excess weight. You should stick to a balanced diet that has all the nutrients in a balanced level that should also contain sufficient amount of fiber and limiting the consumption of simple carbohydrates and fats. People who tend to skip their meals or eat a lot of junk food and are more prone to diabetes from the fat that gets stored in odd places.

4. Hereditary or genetics - Family records of diabetes can pass the disease from generation to generation. A person can be prone to diabetes if his or her maternal or paternal relatives have a history of diabetes. However, one can avert diabetes by altering one's lifestyle for good.
