As we leave 2006 far behind and look towards the wonderful things to come in 2007, I am proclaiming that you will be overtaken by all of the wonderful things that God has in store for you and your family. The bible says that God has plans to prosper us and not to harm us and to give us an expectant end. It further states that eyes have not seen and ears have not heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man all the wonderful things that God has in store for us. With promises like that, I can't help but get excited about this New Year!Since we're starting the New Year off fresh, I thought I'd share a little secret with you about something that is near and dear to my heart. As a matter of fact, when I simply think about it, I feel weak at the knees and just count the minutes until we can be together again. As a woman of God I have been convicted often, because there have been times while I am in church and listening to the ministry that my mind wanders off for a second and before long, I find myself yearning to indulge again.
The bible says that confession is good for the soul, so I have to make a confession to the world about my secret. It's not easy to say this, but the fact of the matter is, I have been having an intimate love affair for nearly 20 years. It's true, I am having a love affair with FOOD. Yes, food has been my companion over the years and we've shared some great fellowship in the good and in the bad times. Even now, as I close my eyes, I can imagine a choice cut Porterhouse steak, cooked medium rare and grilled to perfection. My eyes sparkling and dancing with delight and my heart races with the anticipation of cutting through that juicy piece of meat...awww! Quick, can someone get foodys anonymous on the line?
I digress...what I really want to focus on this month are romantic dinners. Have you had a romantic dinner lately? Maybe it was last night, or last week or perhaps even last month or never? Perhaps we should take a step back and first examine what the word romantic means and then you will be better prepared to answer that question.
