Miley Cyrus' Platinum Edition of "Breakout"

Miley Cyrus is releasing her hit album Breakout in a new edition, Breakout: The Platinum Edition. Fans will see the original album with extra tracks and a bonus DVD that includes several live performances and videos.

Just last month, the RIAA certified Breakout a platinum selling record, selling more than 1 million copies in the U.S. This certification is due to Miley Cyrus being the hottest things since sliced bread for kids and young teens. Her single "7 Things" kicked off
Miley Cyrus' Platinum Edition of "Breakout"
the album with a bang, a song about liking someone and listing off several things she hates about him yet still loves him. It then changes to 7 things she likes only to make it fair and not be so negative. It only peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100 chart on Billboard, but is her highest peaking single to date, jumping from No. 70 to No. 9 once it was digitally released.

"See You Again (Rock Mafia Remix)" is a remixed version of a song that showed up on her Hannah Montana 2/ Meet Miley Cirus disc last year. The remixed version is more danceable and easy to swallow from this young pop princess. Trying to "breakout" into a bigger market, Miley's team released this song in the U.K. in August while giving her her first top twenty hit in the U.K.

Included on the album is her upcoming single that has been released only for airplay (but can be found on the album) is "Fly on the Wall." The U.S. single will be backed by a video and most recently has performed the songs live for interviews such as on Good Morning America.

Cyrus cowrote most of the tracks on her album at only 15 years old. Now with the new edition, two more songs show up and are penned indeed by Miley. "Hovering" is a simple tune of leaving someone that was cowritten with her half-brother Trance. She's spent too much time waiting around to just say she's leaving someone. It's time to go. In the background of the song is Trance doing backup vocals and harmonies against a pop rock composition. However, the quality of the track can lead a listener to believe this was a throw away track and couldn't find a better track to include, or even record a new one.

Miley is trying to be all grown up. I hear that the teenager acts as if she were forty years old. Certainly, being thrust into the celebrity world at an early age will boost one's maturity.

I'm sorry, but I'm glad my dughter is too young to pay attention to Miley Cyrus. I know that in 8-12 years, I'll be dealign with some sort of Miley-ish obsession. May as well get ready...

I know that Miley is looking to get grown up these days.

Love Miley, but also love her enough to leave this album alone for awhile. She is clearly targeting kids her own age with this one, so my 11 and 8-year-olds have not heard the whole album yet (although they do know 7 Things, it's kind of unavoidable). Plus, the past year has been a soul-searching one for parents like me who are trying to shield their daughters from Miley's notorious goings-on...well, not only her, but many of her counterparts as well. sigh I have a feeling once Hannah ends its run (from the looks of it, that will be next year), we'll be weaning off Miley for good (or until she's 30 and does the "comeback as a country singer" thing. You know she will!).

Thanks for the info. I have a feeling my teenaged daughter already knows about this. She is a huge Miley Cyrus fan!
