Why Oprah Winfrey Should Go Out with George Clooney and Where They Should Go

In 2007, the names Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney can be found on almost anyone's list of the rich and famous, and for good reason. One can only wonder what a scheduled outing that would place these two luminaries together would be like. Would there be enough oxygen in the room? Who would speak first? Who would stop speaking first? Would they get along? But before you can even begin to indulge in those fantasies it's important to determine why Oprah Winfrey should go out with George Clooney and where they should go.

Opposites Attract Many people believe that opposites attract and that people who are too alike usually find it difficult to deal with one another. Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney in many ways are complete opposites and so should find a social occasion together very enjoyable.

Obviously the first major difference between the two is their visible racial difference. Not only is Winfrey, black and Clooney white but they come from very different cultures and experiences. George Clooney grew up in relatively privileged white America . His parents and his Aunt Rosemary Clooney were involved in show business and young George had the opportunity to experience the show biz lifestyle when he was still a boy. There is no doubt that along the way George Clooney sensed that should he want to get in to show business at any level he would have a hand up from the adults that peopled his young world.

Oprah had no such childhood. To the contrary her home life was challenging and while it strengthened her in its own way, her relatives gave her little assistance on her way to stardom. Her youth was troubled at best. Along the way there is no doubt that Oprah recognized that if she wanted to make anything of herself in this world she would have to do most of the work herself. Her rise to the position of mega star might seem rapid but it was a rise that was earned every step of the way.

There are certainly enough differences in the backgrounds of Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney to make any time spent together very interesting and probably enjoyable. That alone is a good reason why Oprah Winfrey should go out with George Clooney
