Lean Cuisine Recall Announced
Lean Cuisine has announced recalls of their meals in the flavors of: Café Classics Pesto Chicken with Bow Tie Pasta, Dinnertime Selects Chicken Tuscan, and Spa Cuisine with Chicken Mediterranean. Some consumers have reported finding small bits of blue plastic in these Lean Cuisine
United States of America meals. The company has not provided any information about the cause of the plastic in the Lean Cuisine meals. If you have the Lean Cuisine meals that have been recalled, bring them to the store where you purchased them for a recall. Check the Lean Cuisine website to see if the meals you have are from the batches being recalled.
Lean Cuisine meals are quite popular. They are packaged in paper made cartons so they do not leave a lot of plastic waste, they taste good, and they are somewhat economical for the busy person who doesn't always have a lot of time to cook. The chicken and seafood meals are quite popular with those trying to eat healthy.
Will this recall damage the popularity of the Lean Cuisine brand? Only time will tell. If the company is able to stop further contamination perhaps this isolated trouble will not be damaging. If the problem continues it will cause more consumers to avoid the Lean Cuisine brand. For now, if you eat Lean Cuisine product, check them carefully to ensure there aren't any unusual items mixed in with the food.
Perhaps it is safest to rely on home cooking! It is great to have a frozen meal in the freezer; however that can easily be accomplished by cooking in bulk and freezing the extra food. This ensures you always have a meal ready to microwave when in a rush. It is also nice to have some frozen meals to give to people who are in the midst of a crisis.
Also, with home cooking one can be sure the ingredients are natural and that the product does not contain excessive amounts of salt as too many commercial frozen dinners do.
