Denis Leary May Not Be Sexiest Man Alive, but He Has More Depth Than Twilight (Allegedly)

Hugh Jackman is sexiest man alive, Denis Leary is about to have his head handed to him for writing "Autism Shamautism," and Twilight is said to offer about as much depth as a teeny bopper movie. Oh wait; it is a teeny bopper movie - with fangs.

Hugh Jackman Leads Sexiest Men Alive

Hugh Jackman has been crowned sexiest man alive 2008 by People Magazine, making Pop Watch writers break out in hives. You might be inclined to share their sentiments when you note that runners up for the honor of sexiest man alive included Daniel Craig of

 James Bond fame.

There was also High School Musical 3 star Zac Efron and canceled Lipstick Jungle actor Robert Buckley. Oh, but then there are the legions of eligible men who did not even make it on that list! Well, there is always the sexiest man alive 2009.

Denis Leary Explores Why We Suck

Angry standup Denis Leary is bent on creating a stir with the publication of his new tome entitled "Why We Suck." A chapter called "Autism, Shamautism" is already raising eyebrows and not even his assertion that he "got sucked into the vortex of Oprah," as related to USA Today, is bound to assuage ruffled feathers. Wife Ann Leary, who also just published a book, must be overjoyed at the sure to ensue media circus.

Twilight Review Points to Charmed Regurgitation

Entertainment Weekly's done it now: even before the movie is going to officially debut on Friday, they mention less than stellar Twilight movie reviews. Revealing that Twilight is heavily geared for the teen girls and that none of the mortality/immortality depths come through, one can hardly wait to see what they will say in their Twilight premiere reviews!

Riddle me this: you have a 108 year old immortal cavorting with a nubile teen girl, and EW is looking for depth? Where?

Dennis Leary spoke out on I believe Stephen Colberts or Jon Stewarts Comedy Central shows that he was misquoted, and that he spoke not against the reality of autism but on the fact that so many people use it as a crutch for why their children don't behave correctly, as in like "Oh Andy can't help it he has ADD" type of thing when really little Andy just doesn't pay attention to his parents because he learned that screaming gets him what he wants. The actual episode explains it better than I do.

Interesting take on things. Personally, I still think---and always will----that Sean Connery is the sexiest man alive. No matter how old that man is, he's still too sexy! :)

I heard his wife being interviewed on the radio today. She has written a memoir which reveals a very different life than Leary portrays on television or in front of the camera....but, wow....I'd have issues with someone who questions the reality of autism.
