As host and home to The Martin Luther King Library at Fourth and San Fernando, you know we will be celebrating Martin Luther King for his courage, vision and legacy. Many cities in the Bay Area will host events honor Dr. Martin Luther King and many citizens will spend the whole day celebrating him.

At 7:30 A.M, The Wyndham Hotel will be host to the Annual "Movers Of Mountains Award And Scholarship" breakfast. Tickets for this event can be purchased until January 12th, 2006. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Association honors people who volunteer their time and made significant contributions to the county of Santa Clara; who have made the community a better place to live, without the expectation of recognition.

Caltrain's Freedom Train departs San Jose 10 a.m., arrives San Francisco, 11:25 a.m. Fares $7 to $10 include return trip. Free bus to Bill Graham Civic Auditorium will be available. Details are available at www.mlkscv.org/mlk-freedom-train-san-jose-san-francisco.htm.

Bill Graham Civic Auditorium will be host to a full day of celebrations. From 9am till noon, there will be health screenings and discussions. At noon there will be a rally and celebration of this great man.

If you are unable to make an event on January 15th, 2007; Stanford University has listed several events through The Martin Luther King Jr. Research and Education Institute.

On January 12th, 2007 The Martin Luther King Jr. Research and Education Institute is hosting an open house from 2-4 p.m. In celebration of volume VI of the Papers of Martin Luther King, Jr.: Advocate of the Social Gospel, MLKR&EI welcomes everyone to share in fellowship and light refreshment with our staff and scheduled guests: Clarence B. Jones (attorney to Dr. King); Michael Honey (historian & author); Bettie Mae Fikes (SNCC Freedom Singer); Dorothy Cotton (SCLC Director of Education).
