Simple Needs

My needs are simple really
They are only but a few
I can quickly rattle them off
To help enlighten you

I need your time to know I matter
I'm a priority is what it tells me
When you make time for me in your life
I know all is as it should be

I need affection shown in small sweet ways
Like notes, backrubs, and flowers
It doesn't need to cost a lot or take much time
But the tingle it gives will be with me for hours  

I need to know that you love me
And why, for goodness sake
I need to be told what you see in me
That causes you all others to forsake

I need your arms to do more than hold me
I need them to pitch in
Roll up those sleeves and give me a break
Housework is not a sin

I need to oft hear kind words
Spoken to me and about
It gives me confidence in your love
It leaves no room for doubt

Those are the things that say love to me
That's what shows you care
If you keep it simple and stick to the list
With me you'll create an enduring love affair
