This simple Vintage Tin folding screen is a great way to add some character to a room in your home. Vintage Tin is also a great way to add some architectural interest a small space in your home.

I love this simple Vintage Tin folding screen project because it stands all on its own and uses up any shapes, sizes, and colors of vintage tin. If you are renting you won't have to worry about making another nail hole in the wall either!

To Make This Simple Vintage Tin Folding Screen You Will Need:

Vintage Tins (all shaped and sizes)

Two piano hinges

3 piece of MDF

Primer

Sand Paper

Paint

Roller brushes

Paint trays

Power drill

Epoxy glue (optional)

Now, the first step to making this simple Vintage Tin folding screen is to buy your MDF or plywood. You want to purchase these second because you can make this simple home décor project a lot easier if you base the size of your folding screen around the size of your Vintage Tin.

Now, most vintage tin pieces will not be al the same size, so measure your widest piece and that is how wide each of your sheet of plywood or MDF that make the folding screen need to be. They should all be the same size. You can also do as many pieces of MDF as you would like to make a larger screen.

Now, one other good bit of advise I can give you when making this simple Vintage Tin folding screen is to buy real wood. MDF is heavier, but will not need any sanding. So the choice I yours.

Now, go ahead and give your three pieces of Wood or MDF a light sanding. You could also use a liquid sanding product, which would need no sanding.

Now, once the primer dries paint them out in any paint color you would like. I recommend painting the Wood part of this folding screen to match the existing Vintage Tin you will be displaying on it. It will tie in nicely with your existing home décor this way.

If you are using new pieces of tin you could paint the entire folding screen in one color to tie it in together. The choice is yours.

To install your pieces of vintage tin you have a few choices. If you won't be using the tin for anything else you can drill a hole in each corner and screw them in place on the folding screen.

Takeaways
  • Now, once the primer dries paint them out in any paint color you would like.
  • I recommend painting the Wood part of this folding screen to match the existing Vintage Tin you will be displaying on it.
