Many new parents want to take tons of pictures of their baby. This actually comprises a sizable amount of the photo developing shops' business. However, most parents do not have good photography skills, so the pictures turn out to be too dark, bright, blurry or out of focus. Here are some ways to improve your photographs:

1. Whenever you are taking a picture of your baby lying on their back, then you should stand directly over the top of the baby and look down while taking the picture. It is also helpful to place your baby on a blanket in a sunny room so that you can be sure that your camera is properly centered. This will give you some great close-up photographs. If you do this in a sunny room, then your pictures will not be too bright or too dark.

2. Be sure to take photographs of your baby's wide range of emotions. You will be amazed how great these non-traditional pictures will turn out.

3. Take pictures during your baby's bath time. While some babies do not like water, the majority of babies actually love water. Therefore, they become very expressive during their bath time. They laugh, coo and splash. This is a great time to capture some wonderful shots of your baby.

Great article. I love our digital camera, you can definitely tell the difference between the disposable camera pictures, which we used early on, and our digital camera pictures. I also rely heavily on those photo editing programs, particularly Kodak Easy Share.

Definitely saving this! My cousin is having a baby in Sept and I am the photog person in the family - plus, I am hoping to adopt this year too.

Great info! I don't have babies anymore, but sure wish I knew this when I did. I have too many terrible shots. Guess I can practice on the pets now! LOL Thanks for the great tips!
