Unknown Bands and Singers

Among the big name musicians and big name labels, there are musicians trying their hand at the business, and are making a name a for themselves in their areas. I'm going to tell you about a few bands and singers who deserve recognition.

Unspoken is a band out of Maine. It consists of 5 band members, Chad Mattson, Yamil Jimenez, Jon Lowry, Mike Gomez, and Ariel. The band originally started with Chad and Mike. Chad felt the need to go to the Dominican Republic in 200, there he met Mike and they started this band. Their music is Christian Rock. They focus on having God in your life and relying on him. They travel around the New England area performing at various places. Their sound is a little different because of Mike's Dominican influence. They guys are down to earth and wonderful. The like to stick the acoustic feel with some of their songs which adds to the power of the messages within their lyrics.

Mike Duncan Project is another Christian band. The band consists of Mike Duncan, Jesse Metcalf, David and Joseph Faulk. Josh Schneeberger, and Jeremy Yerse. All members of the same church in Coraopolis Pennsylvania. Their music is Christian Rock, and they already have a music video for their song "We Will Sing." Right now they are performing in the Pittsburgh area, but no doubt will go to farther. The focus on giving praise and glory to God through all we do.

Melody Gardot is just a singer. She sings blues and is amazing. Her vocals can stand out in any crowd. Her voice is unique and it's hard to compare her with any other singer. Her music reminds people of the early blues and jazz songs. She's from the Philadelphia area and will no doubt go very far. She's fairly new, started in 2005, and she already has 2 cds currently available.

Idenity X is more hard rock. They are Darren DiNapoli: DNAPPS, Dave Toole, Tony Duez, "Teener" and Chris Sheader. They perform at various venues around the Pittsburgh area, but have participated in band contests and video contest with their video for "Archetype." They also have t-shirts. They began in February 2003 and form a unique aggressive, yet melodic sound.
