The Safest Dance You Will Ever Send Your Tween To

It is the single worst sentence that any parent of a tween boy or girl wants to ever hear. It is the sentence that strikes fear into their hearts. That sentence is, "Mom? Can I go to the dance this weekend?" All sorts of thoughts go through a parents head after this sentence is uttered. "Who is going to watch my child?" "Is this person safe to have around my child?" "Will there be a chaperone at all?" "Will the kids be kissing, hugging and getting touchy feely?" "Should I let him/her go?" "How do other parents feel?" "Are they letting their kids go?" "How safe is the place the dance is being held at?" Your mind literally goes into overload as your tween impatiently waits for an answer, hopping back and forth from foot to foot. Then you hear, "Mom? Are you listening?" You feign an excuse for them not to go and then you hear, "Mom everyone will be there. It just isn't fair." That is usually followed by a door being jarred from its hinges as it slams in your face!! That is when the guilt suddenly hits you and you begin to wonder if you made the right choice. You do after all need to give them some room to grow. But how much room is too much and too unsafe?

Once your child has paid his/her $5.00 admission fee they are not allowed to leave the building until you come back to pick them up. Inside they will find other tweens to mix and mingle with as well as chaperones that have had extensive background checks. With this amount of safety features in place how can you not allow your tween to go to this dance?! They will also find DJ Evan Clinton of Moultonborough NH and lots of yummy snacks to purchase. Proceeds go to the church's youth group known as BYF. The first two dances are November 28th from 7-10pm and December 26th from 7-10pm.
