Whether you are a college student who needs a ride to class or an employee looking to get to work, try riding with your fellow students and workers to save a little bit on the gas. Heck, you can even take turns on who drives each day of the week.

Whether you know it or not, most major cities and a lot of smaller ones have public transportation systems. Bus systems, subway systems, and other forms of transportation can get you where you need to go. These sometimes cost a fee, but it is sure to be much lower than what you would otherwise pay at the pump. There is no shame in riding the bus.

Not all gas stations are created equally. Understand, first of all, that some gas stations focus their efforts on selling gas. Others are more interested in selling beer or in-store products. Shop around and look for the best prices. Try not to fill your car up ten dollars at a time. Instead, find the lowest cost of gas and fill your tank to the brim each time it gets a little low.
