Camps for Girls

Not every camper likes co ed camps. And you know your child. You know what kind of environment she will grow and shine in and thankfully there are camps that cater only to girls, if that is what you and your child want. Many of the camps are also affiliated with the Girl Scouts, and that does give you an extra feeling for security, knowing that the camp has to adhere to Girl Scout standards.

But no matter what, you need to do your homework and check out all the details before you allow them to take charge of you child. How long has the camp been in existence. How long has it been under the current management and what work and educational experience do they have and what criteria do they use in hiring the rest of the staff? What kind of medical staff do they have and how far away is the nearest hospital? You do no want to think that something serious could happen, but the fact is it can. Accidents can happen to any one at any time in any place. It is simply a fact of life and you have to be prepared.

When you register at the camp, tell them everything about your child. Medications are handled by the camp nurse. They need to know any medical conditions, any fears the child may have. They need to know if the child is allegoric to anything, food or any type of drug that many be administered at a hospital like penicillin for example. Do not leave anything out.

If these camps are not near you, use them as a yard stick so to speak to judge other camps. They are considered some of the best.
Once you make your choice, relax and let your child have a great summer. You will know if she did when she comes home pleading to go back again next year.
