Top Places to Entertain Children in San Diego

When in America's Finest City, San Diego, it's fairly obvious that a lot of the fun things to do and top places to entertain children involve the water. Make no mistake, the beach is definitely a great place to spend time, relax, and have fun in the fun, but there are many other things to do in addition to the beach. This article will share several of the top places to entertain children in San Diego.

Okay so given the Pacific Ocean is so very paramount in the scheme of things in San Diego, and since most people will be heading to the beach, you may as well know the best ones to go to for children. Del Mar Beach is very family friendly offering, swimming, surfing, body boarding and surfing, as well as grunion hunting. There are also two parks on the beach, Seagrove Park and Powerhouse Park.

Powerhouse Park offers a full size playground for the younger kids. All of the beaches around La Jolla (except Black's which is a nude beach) are great for families as well. Children's Beach which was intended for children, is now a refuge for the baby seals that have washed ashore, and have pretty much taken over the beach. Though you are not allowed to touch them, it's a wonderful site for the kids to see. The water in that area is not safe to swim in because of the waste from the seals.

If you are visiting San Diego or live here and have never been to the Del Mar County Fair, make note of the dates. It is opened between mid June through the fourth of July and offers a host of activities for children including a petting zoo, carnival rides, games and lots of great food.
