Senior Classes and Activities in San Diego

If you are a senior in San Diego looking for structured classes, or casual activities, there are a plethora of options available to continue to lead a healthy, and active life style. The Eldercare Directory provided by the San Diego Tribune lists a plethora of classes and activities for San Diego Seniors. Local businesses are invited to list any activities, classes or events that are not currently listed in the directory. This articles reviews and summarizes the current available classes and activities.

Remaining active and stimulating the mind is important in maintaining youth. There are a number of versatile classes and activities offered to stimulate San Diego Seniors. Sundays between 2:00PM and 6:00PM the Cal Atakapa Tribe and Choctaw Institute & Culture offer a class in Spiritual & Healing Drumming. The third Sunday of the month the Mind-Body Science Institute offers classes on the Introduction to Brainwave-Meridian Therapy with a professional on site to lecture, answer questions and provide consultations. The Therapy is described as a "recognized breakthrough healing art that is very effective for chronic mental and physical diseases natural healing, without medication and needles." Life Options Free Movie and refreshments for seniors is offered on the second Tuesday of every month by the Salvation Army Kroc Center from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. The Life Options Program is proactive in promoting the senior population to rediscover learning by participating in activities, and attending a variety of classes, projects, special events, volunteerism, and employment opportunities. Classes are held in the community room. Life Options Meetings are held on Friday from 2:00PM to 4:00PM in the Fireside room. The events are located at 6845 University Avenue.
