Remember Christmas Short Poem
Remember Christmas Short Poem
The tinsel, the lights, that chill in the air
Its Christmas again and the western world is set and prepared
For Turkey and stuffing and gifts galore,
For family and friends, eggnog, mince pies and more
The children are restless for Santa's arrival
The parents concentrate on In-Law survival
The bank accounts groan under the strain of it all
As every one acts like their having a ball
It is easy sometimes to forget the reason
To just take a deep breath and get through the season
But whatever religion, creed, make or colour
It's all basically about being good to each other
At some point this Christmas, just take a step back
When you've got to the point where you want to attack
Remember those ones lost out on the streets
Without hope, without solace, without Christmas treats
Remember the children abused and alone
Remember the elderly forgotten in a home
Spare a thought for those people whose loved ones have gone
Last Christmas each death was someone's daughter or son.
If you have a home alive with love, colour and lights
Consider yourself luckily (despite any fights)
Christmas is giving, not just receiving
So hoist out that turkey and keep on believing
That the world is good place, kind at heart
Although there is evil and hardship, it's only a part
You make that choice, every day you're alive
Whether to truly live or merely survive.
The tinsel, the lights, that chill in the air
Its Christmas again and the western world is set and prepared
For Turkey and stuffing and gifts galore,
For family and friends, eggnog, mince pies and more
The children are restless for Santa's arrival
The parents concentrate on In-Law survival
The bank accounts groan under the strain of it all
As every one acts like their having a ball
It is easy sometimes to forget the reason
To just take a deep breath and get through the season
But whatever religion, creed, make or colour
It's all basically about being good to each other
At some point this Christmas, just take a step back
When you've got to the point where you want to attack
Remember those ones lost out on the streets
Without hope, without solace, without Christmas treats
Remember the children abused and alone
Remember the elderly forgotten in a home
