After reading Crissy Gottberg article on Secondlife.com, I started searching. I was intrigued by the fact that the Internal Revenue Service was thinking about taxing revenue, investments and homes accumulated in the virtual world of Second Life.

It looks like the French jewelry house will be showcasing 4 of 17 pieces of their collection. The pieces range from $150,000 to 1.2 million dollars. Artist Victoire de Castellane designed the impressive jewelry.

This is not the first time that Secondlife.com has had something lavish like this. The San Francisco Company Linden Labs has items like multimillion-dollar homes and hot vehicles. I'm sure there is more to pick and choose but my computer system was unable to get past the introduction.

Unfortunately fellow ladies and gents, residents of Second Life are unable to purchase to jewelry. Dior has chosen Belladone Island as the ultimate viewing palace till the actual jewelry is displayed in February.

I searched the various islands to get a glimpse of these extravagant pieces of jewelry but was unable to find the location where they were being put on display. It's a shame, if the difficulty of finding the jewels happens to everyone else, then virtually millions of people will not be able to see the Victoire de Castellane designed collection.

Dior itself is not using it as advertising. I do see a possibility for many other companies to showcase their business and products. Second Life could possible be the new way to network, interview, and possibly obtain clients.

Let's use Dior for example. Dior creates skin care, perfume, cosmetics, and clothing. What if Britney Spears used Christian Dior's example and put new clothing lines on display. Britney Spears could then have thousands of people view her new clothing line.

Do you think that I'm joking? I'm not. When members of Secondlife.com meet each other, the option of giving the person a business card is possible. Members can also sell clothing items, backpacks and cars.

lol. I wish I could have found the island to tell you about the jewels. It is a great business asset, I'm just turned off by how slow it runs on my computer.

All this talk about second life is intriguing - but not enough to pull me in yet. My "first" life is full enough at the moment! But - I agree that Second Life is a marvelous arena for a multitude of businesses to increase visibility and we all know that increased visibility will usually translate to increased revenue. Real revenue! Great work - share more as you learn more - you might hook me yet.
