MySpace, the hottest thing on the internet right now. Everyone that you know has a MySpace page. Businesses are using them to promote their business, friends have them to stay in touch with each other, and people are using them to meet new people and make new friends as well. The most important thing to consider when you are making your MySpace page is the layout. Don't get caught with a bad MySpace layout!

We have all seen the gaudy, glittery, "hurt your eyes" MySpace layouts that many people choose to use. Trying to read their "About me" section of the page hurts your head more than you thought possible. Why do people choose these kinds of layouts? They want attention? They want to be different? Surely they can see with their own eyes that the text is too difficult to read. Can't they feel the strain that it puts on their eyes? Some people just are not aware that they are using a bad MySpace layout.

Having a MySpace layout that is visitor friendly is important if you are wanting people to hang around and read all about you or your business. You need friendly colors that will not blind everyone that clicks on your page, and make sure that your text color is easy to read as well.

Another bad MySpace layout I have seen is where every other letter in every word on the page is capitalized. Trying to read text that is not grammatically correct can really give you a head ache. It is also a sure fire way to keep visitors from returning to your page.

Other bad MySpace layouts will have more than one song starting as someone opens the page. Ok, so maybe you have two favorite songs. Can you just choose one at a time to play on your page?

As you can see, having a bad MySpace layout can make you or break you on MySpace. Try to keep your graphics to a minimum and simple. No one wants to see your name lit up and sparkling ten times on your page. Make sure that the text on the page is easy to read, and that you are not overloading your page with too many pictures. As this will mean that it takes longer for your page to load, and many people are just not all that patient. Choosing your MySpace layout carefully can make all the difference in the world, and your visitors will thank you.
