Dreamgirls is this Fall's critically acclaimed musical. The film stars Jamie Foxx, Beyonce Knowles, Eddie Murphy, and Jennifer Hudson and is based on the 1981 Broadway hit of the same name.

Dreamgirls is currently nominated for five Golden Globe Awards including Best Motion Picture for a Musical or a Comedy, and Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Knowles and Hudson, respectively.

The film's stars seem to be shining brighter than ever. Well one of the film's star power seems to have dimmed just a bit. The Academy of Motion Picture and Film and a press representative from the motion picture, Dreamgirls have confirmed what was only a rumor a week ago. Beyonce Knowles will not be credited as a songwriter if "Listen" is nominated for a Best Song Academy Award. The sensational siren and Dreamgirls film star, Beyonce Knowles have confirmed that the starlet will not have the honor of the nomination.

The GoDerby.com website printed the astonishing news a few days ago, but now the official decision is confirmed. The Academy Awards see this as business as usual. Academy representative, John Pavlik, stated, "Various branch executive committees have to make this kind of a decision almost every year, and the decision always comes down to the same thing: who had the most to do with the achievement being considered. It [Beyonce Knowles' case] was no different."

"Listen," which is also featured on Beyonce's album, B'Day, was an added song written especially for the film version of Dreamgirls. According to the Academy, the song is written only by Scott Cutler, Henry Krieger, and Anne Preven. Yet, the Golden Globes have recognized Beyonce Knowles, as well as Scott Cutler, Henry Krieger, and Anne Preven for the song, which is sung by Knowles' Dreamgirls character, Deena Jones, as the young timid character who, gains fame, and eventually finds her own voice and identity.
