Bridal Accessories: Choosing the Right Flowers
When thinking about their wedding day, most brides think the most important factors are their own dress, the attire of the entire wedding party, where the wedding and reception will be held and what kind of cake they should order. And while these are
very important decisions the bride and her soon-to-be husband will have to make, another very important part of the wedding will be the flowers.
A bride may have the most beautiful wedding dress in the world but if her bouquet is ugly, it takes away from the appearance of the dress altogether. The wrong corsages can make even the prettiest bridesmaids dresses or snappiest tuxedoes appear hum-drum. And let's not forget the most important role flowers take on in a wedding - decorating the church and wherever the reception is being held.
The flowers that are being worn or carried should match the attire of the person wearing or holding them. And just as these flowers should match what is being worn, the flowers in the church and the reception hall should match the color theme of the wedding.
Normally, brides will go to a nearby florist after buying the dresses and find a flower that will match the theme and coloring of their wedding. They will look through books supplied by the florist, choosing the type of flower, colors and designs before placing their order. Simple as that. But very expensive.
Brides that are facing a budget crunch, or who simply want to incorporate a personal style of their own into the wedding, will choose to try other things. Some brides are choosing to make not only their own bouquets, but also those of the bridal party. They are even going so far as to make their own floral arrangements for the reception halls. If they have plenty of time, this is a great idea.
Lots of brides are getting together with their bridesmaids and having parties where they sit around and make these floral arrangements. This is a nice way to make your bridesmaids feel as if they have some input into what they are carrying and being part of the wedding. They can help choose the flowers, the colors and how the flowers are arranged.
