Or it could have been my sister's best friend raving about how wonderful and artsy the shirts were there. I love an artsy, 'Look at my shirt', shirt. Since joining the site in November 2005 I will admit I have bought 8 of the shirts and have found myself looking at a brand new just released shirt and whipping out the credit card to buy one before that particular design sold out. And depending on the design, they can sell out pretty quick.
Since Threadless started as an idea in 2000 when the founders entered a t-shirt design contest, the site has quickly grown into a popular place in the online shopping world and mails out approximately 50,000 shirts a month. And that's on only 450 winning designs since 2000. The site alone boasts over 300,000 loyal fans who are happy to not only buy the t-shirts they love but compete with each other to win $2000 in cash and store credit prizes. Let's face it, there is no shortage of online shops full of hip, quirky and retro t-shirts. However, none of them has more personality than Threadless. Their slogan Naked No More says it all, and you will be guaranteed not to walk away unhappy with a t-shirt from them.
The one thing I enjoy about the site is the chance to submit my drawings and ideas to them and be judged by other loyal fans on whether my design will make the cut to become one of the 4-6 designs they pick weekly. The more you submit the better chances you will have of making the top 600 designers who are then cut down to the top 12. Those are voted on and blogged about and finally the top 4-6 are picked and printed and put on the site for the masses to purchase.
