Hoboken, New Jersey, is a mecca for young professionals who work in New York City but refuse to pay the outrageous housing costs of New York City. Hoboken is a vibrant one-square mile city with plenty of fine dining, nightlife, and forms of public transportation into Manhattan and areas of northern New Jersey. Here is a review of some of Hoboken's most popular rentals.

The Curling Club, located at 11th and Grand, offers two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments that are great for a two-person share. A shuttle takes residents to and from the New York Waterway ferry stations and Hoboken Terminal. The Curling Club also offers residents full use of their small but adequate fitness center. The six-story residential buildings are modern (built in 1999), and equipped with elevators. I resided in the Curling Club for six years, starting in 1999, when the rent was a mere $1,900 per month. Rents currently range between $2,530 and $2,610, depending on which floor you reside (floors five and six cost more than two through four). You will have a balcony, but no real view. The Curling Club is located in a congested area of northern Hoboken and all apartments face either the courtyard or the street. Parking costs extra, approximately $150 a month. The location isn't terrible, but for that amount of money, it would be nice to be closer to the PATH. Overall, during my six years, I was satisfied with my Curling Club experience, but constant increases in rent were frustrating, particularly as newer, nicer buildings were going up. You may telephone (201) 659-5000 for further information.
