If you arrive without a reservation, prepare to wait at least an hour. Once you are seated your drink order will be taken quickly, and if you need help exploring the wine list the wait staff is always willing to offer suggestions! Start off with an appetizer to jump start your meal, like bacon on a potato pancake with pear chutney. Another great appetizer choice offered is soft pretzels with sausage, garlic mushrooms, and horseradish mustard. If you are looking for an elegant appetizer, try the twin foie gras and duck burgers served on brioche and pumpernickel with spicy mustard. Annie Gunn's list of appetizers shows off their ability to take comfort food and transform it into something special. The flavor combinations on all of the appetizers are exciting and unexpected, yet they always pair well with the food. The cost of an appetizer at Annie Gunn's ranges from $9 to $20.
Annie Gunn's also offers both salads and soups if you prefer lighter fare. A notable salad is the pecan-goat cheese with raisins and tomato dressing on mixed greens- the flavor of this salad is sweet yet robust! If you want to go with a soup definitely opt for the Potato Soup, it's warm and rich, basically everything that comfort food should be! Salads range in price from $7 to $10 while soup is $3 for a cup and $5 for a bowl.
