If You are lacking any of the requirements you may be issued a Temporary Teacher Employment Authorization, which will allow you to teach while you complete the requirements for full authorization to teach in Michigan. This certificate is valid for one year and is non-renewable.

After completing the requirements for full authorization your Michigan Professional Certificate is valid for six years, after which you are required to complete 10 semester hours of professional development in a planned program at an approved teacher school.
