Looking for Ways to Spend More Time with Your Kids?

What do you do when your kids just don't want to spend time with you anymore? What do you do when you find that you just don't seem to have time you once had to spend with your kids? I have some ideas for you. Granted i am a stay at home mom , but believe me time is an issue for all of us.

Helping with Dinner
This is a god-send for me. I set up a schedule for one of my kids to help me make dinner each night of the week. They love it ! While we are making dinner we have time to talk about things that are concerning either myself or them. In the process of making dinner and talking they also learn vital skills such as measuring and cooking full meals.

Grocery Shopping
This is something that most parents dread. Taking your child to the grocery store can be so much more than just a pian in the rear end. I take my kids with me , yes sometimes it can be a apin in the rear. If I have the chance to take just one child it is beneficial for both of us. Grocery shopping gives us time to talk and also gives the child real world experience as to the cost of things. It can help them with thier math and computation skills as well as help them learn to work on a budget.

Car Rides
You know how it is sometimes when you take your kids on a trip and it is question after question? Well i have found a remedy to that situation. This helps them with thier educational skills and helps you stay awake. If we take a long trip , or if the kids start bickering we start playing the spelling game. I choose a state or a country and they have to spell it correctly. It seems simple but my kids love this game. We have also been known to play the I spy game and The guessing game. Have you ever heard of 20 questions? Well it is like that only more productive. They think of something and we ask questions until we figure out what it is.

Computer Games
so you don't like playsation or the latest craze in games? i can not blame you, those games are so violent most of the time . My kids and I like to log onto game sites on the computer and play together. our all time favorite is The Game Show Network online. You play along with the TV . We have so much fun with that game!
